On the evening of November 13 Susan Alberti was delighted to receive the 2013 Research Australia Macquarie Group Foundation Great Australian Philanthropy Award. Sue joined an illustrious list of previous winners, including Harold Mitchell, Clive Berghofer and the late Dame Elisabeth Murdoch.
The award recognises Sue’s long and outstanding contribution as a philanthropist, particularly in the area of type 1 diabetes research.
“I am honoured to receive this award and see it as a way of helping to support the goals of my medical research foundation and our motto, ‘Helping to deliver tomorrow’s medical discoveries today’,” Sue said.
Research Australia is an alliance of 160 member organisations and supporters which advocates for health and medical research in Australia.
