On April 9 Susan Alberti re-affirmed her commitment to fund the Danielle Alberti Centre for Diabetes Complications at Baker-IDI with a substantial donation toward funding Professor Mark Cooper’s research. Mark has received many awards and is an eminent researcher in the field of diabetes and its complications. His work has profoundly improved our understanding of this disease and has been of direct benefit to millions of sufferers around the world. Sue said; “As a parent of a child with type 1 diabetes who tragically died from complications I know the importance of not just finding a cure for the disease, but also better treatment for the terrible side effects.”
