On April 5 Susan Alberti hosted the Western Bulldogs President’s Lunch for a home game at Etihad Stadium against the Richmond Football Club. In her lunchtime speech Sue honoured the contribution of women to the AFL including the first female President of an AFL club, Richmond’s Peggy O’Neal. Sue said she was delighted Bulldogs Club President Peter Gordon had ‘abdicated’ for the day. “It gave me a chance to acknowledge the contribution of women to our great game, as well as cheer home my boys for a magnificent victory!” For the record, the Bulldogs defeated the Tigers by just two points.
