On May 8 more than 350 guests attended Leonda on the Yarra and celebrated the contribution of ‘Women in Research’ with guest speaker Dr Fiona Wood delivering an inspiring address to a captive audience. The annual Susan Alberti Medical Research Foundation Mother’s Day luncheon raises funds to assist women in research at St Vincent’s Institute. This year’s recipient was Dr Sophie Broughton.
The proceeds of the event will allow Sophie to spend precious time with her new born while her research into structural biology and leukaemia continues.
